An employee recently uploaded messages between him and his employer (Quality Moving Services based in Fruitland, FL) were the employer openly stated their common practice of not hiring black males.
The dialogue shows the employee (a white male / Travis Long) saying: "we had one n***** who was really good but like I said we had to let him go because customers don't want black people in their home and I don't blame them". Travis was talking to an employee who was trying to refer a friend to Quality Moving Services for employement.
The dialogue also shows the company being aware and tolerant of the employees drug smoking habit and even suggested that he simply spray himself before he comes to work.
Its okay to do drugs, but its not okay to be black, is the general message people online are mockingly saying as this conversation goes viral on Facebook. Angered by the companys' practice & attutide, many Facebook users have left reviews online about the company.
They have recently shutdown their Facebook account, and now Yelp users are fired up about the racist comments made by the employee who unwittingly let everyone know of their discriminatory practices. (See Yelp)
Do you think this company violated the Civil Rights Act of 1964? Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, as amended, protects employees and job applicants from employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin.
